We’re piloting 18 CT units across two floors to capture 15-minute kWh and breaker events, but signal drops near the elevator core keep creating gaps — what gateway/antenna setups have stayed stable in concrete-heavy buildings? I want this feeding our BMS for nightly HVAC setbacks to cut peak load, so reliability beats squeezing another 0.2% accuracy?
Are you on 915 MHz and able to mount a corridor antenna off the riser? We killed the “elevator core” gaps by parking a Milesight UG67 in the riser and running <5 m of LMR‑400 to a 3 dBi ceiling puck (L‑com LPB‑915‑3C) about 10 ft from the core, then fixing the CT nodes near it at SF9 while leaving ADR on for the rest. If you can’t pull coax, a PoE micro‑gateway (Kerlink iFemtoCell) just outside the core has been stable in concrete.
Swapping the omni for a 6 dBi flat panel on the corridor wall, aimed down the hall, solved our elevator-core fade; kept coax under 2 m and fixed the meters to DR2 (US915) with ADR off. > just outside the core — that helped some, but the panel gave us about 10 dB and stopped the 15‑min gaps.
